Azamgarh news:Accused who killed auto driver arrested in police encounter

Azamgarh. The vicious miscreant who killed the auto driver by slitting his throat in Jahanaganj police station area was arrested by Alsubah police during an encounter on Sunday. The injured miscreant has been admitted to the hospital after being shot in the leg.Auto driver Sunil Gupta’s (40) son Raj Narayan Gupta, a resident of Faridpur under Mohammadabad police station of Mau district, was strangled to death on the way to Karpia village of Jahanganj police station on the Azamgarh-Mau border late on April 25. The police had registered a case and were on the lookout for the murderer.On Sunday Alsubah police received information that the accused in the auto driver murder case was present around Bajha Pulia. On this information, the police reached the spot. The police came face to face with a miscreant near the culvert. As soon as he was surrounded by the police, the miscreant opened fire. In retaliatory action, the miscreant was shot in the leg and he fell injured.The police arrested him and admitted him to the district hospital for treatment.The miscreant was identified as Afzal s/o Nazir resident of Barhadpur police station Kotwali Mohammadabad district Mau. The police is interrogating him to find out the reason behind the incident.
